Athletic Director

Welcome to the Qatar Academy Athletic Program

The Athletic Department would like to welcome back all teachers, students, athletes, fans and parents to an exciting and promising year for our Qatar Academy Athletics Program. In order to improve our athletic and after school activities for our student body, Qatar Academy has committed itself to further improvements for the 2006-07 school year.

Qatar Academy is now a full member of the International Schools Activities Conference (ISAC) and is eligible to participate in international volleyball, basketball, soccer and track & field competitions. ISAC membership will allow QA students to travel to places like; Egypt, Syria, Kuwait, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman and Cyprus. In addition to our membership in ISAC, QA has joined forces with ASD, PISQ, TLC and PSD to create the Doha Private Schools Sports Association (DPSSA). DPSSA provides QA with weekly competitive games without having to leave the country. We look forward to the local and international games the two new leagues will bring to our program.

With your help, cooperation and support, the 2006-07 athletic seasons will be very successful. Remember, the most import thing you will ever do in your life is "show-up." Showing up is the first step in learning a new activity, supporting your school, bettering yourself. Sometimes showing up can be the most difficult thing a person can do--but those that can and those that do (show up)--find the rewards everlasting.

Sincerely,

Mr. Hugh Richards
Athletic Director
