The teacher works with students who are enrolled in the ESL program three times a week.
ESL class work is tailored to individual student needs and focuses on the more academic language skills of reading and writing. Student progress is monitored closely by the ESL teacher, who then recommends that each student either exit the program at the end of the year or remain in ESL and continue to receive support for the following year.
All ESL students are regularly tested to ascertain their language level to match our criteria. There is no ESL support after Grade 8.
