Admission Criteria
Students are admitted in chronological age groups from 1st September.

Qatar Academy does not offer Special Needs Education and only caters for main stream students.
Entry to all age groups at Qatar Academy is by selection. Qatar Academy uses different screening tools at different grade levels, to suit the developmental level of the students.
- Applicants for Preschool 3 will be interviewed.
- Applicants for Preschool 4 - Grade 2 will be given a developmental screening test.
- From Grades 3 - 5 applicants are given a range of placement subtests.
- For Grades 6 - 11 (All grades require receipt of satisfactory reports; the applicant is then given a standardized test followed by an interview in some cases as part of the assessment).
All students, including Qatar Academy students, have to meet the entry requirements for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Qualifications for entry to the Diploma course in Grade 11 are as follows:
- For students enrolled in the MYP:
- For the Grade 10 year, an average of 4 or above for all classes, with marks of 4 or above in Math, English and Science
- At least a 4 on the MYP Personal Project
- MYP Community and Service requirements completed
- For students who have completed the GCSE/IGCSE:
- Passes at Grade C or above in a minimum of five subjects including English, Mathematics and Science
- Passing Qatar Academy's entrance test
- For other students:
- Evidence of competence in English and in native language (where applicable)
- Evidence of competence in Mathematics, Science and at least two other subjects
- Passing Qatar Academy's entrance test
All students wishing to enter Qatar Academy must be registered by the Admissions Officer. Registration is not complete until the required form has been completed and returned to school, and the appropriate fees paid. Prospective parents are always welcome to visit the Academy by appointment through the Admissions Office, Heads of each school or through the Director's Office.
Testing dates are arranged when all required documentation has been submitted.

Registration for Preschool 3 is now closed.
Application forms may be down loaded from the website or are available at the Admissions Office at Qatar Academy. All forms must be completed entirely and submitted to the school Admission's Officer.

Admissions Procedures
Applicants are asked to complete the enclosed application form and send the required documentation listed below. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- two passport-size photographs of the student
- a copy of applicant's previous 3 years' school records
- a copy of the applicant's passport and birth certificate
- a copy of the father's or guardian's passport, including a copy of the visa for non GCC nationals
- QR 250 non-refundable application fee
- medical form and copy of the immunization card
- language profile
- billing form
- leaving certificate for students transferring during the academic year
- for entry into Grade 11, applicants must complete the attached form A, a copy by a current teacher/counselor, and the other one by the principal
Applicants should submit only COPIES of important documents. Qatar Academy will not save or return any documents to applicants.

The Admissions officer reviews completed applications and determines whether the applicant may be tested for admission. The Admissions Office then contacts families with the decision, and to schedule testing dates for applicants proceeding to the next stage of the process.
