SCHOOL WIDE PUBLICATIONS
Qatar Academy believes that maintaining good communication between the school and parents is critical to student success.
The Akhbar newsletter is published once a week. The Akbar has four main purposes:
- to inform parents about whole school events;
- to inform parents about changes to routines;
- to make announcements;
- to provide a vehicle by which student achievement can be celebrated and displayed to a wider audience.

Thursday Messages
All bulletins, announcements and special notices are sent home on one day, Thursdays, from the Primary School. The youngest child in each family or the only child in each family is given the responsibility of carrying the Thursday messages to the parents.
Monthly Calendar
This calendar is sent home with all students to inform parents of school-wide and classroom-specific events.
School Handbook
The handbook details items of importance for Primary School students and their parents. It is given to every family at the beginning of each school year.
Teacher Classroom Newsletters
These newsletters are designed to keep parents updated on what is taking place in the classroom in the PYP as well as what is coming up within the established curriculum.

SENIOR SCHOOL
The Senior School values regular, situational appropriate contact with parents. For this reason we encourage dialogue that may involve arranging face-to-face meetings, telephone conversations or email contact.

Senior School Daily Announcements
The Daily Announcements are read aloud each morning during the scheduled homeroom period. It is also posted on the school's intranet site.
Senior School Handbook
The Handbook details items of importance for senior school students and their parents. It is given out to every student at the beginning of each school year.
Yearbook
The Yearbook is a student produced publication that chronicles the school year. It includes both the primary and senior school and is sold at the end of each school year.
Athletic Handbook
This handbook is a complete guide to all athletic events and details the student's responsibilities for being part of the Senior School's athletic programs. It is distributed to all student athletes.
College / University Placement Handbook
This guide provides detailed information about college application processes and timelines, and useful information about college/ university requirements. All high school students receive a copy.
IB Brochures
These documents describe the components of the IB program and are for students entering the program and their parents.
Senior School Assignment Book
This daily planner and organizer are given to each Senior School student at the beginning of each school year.
Course Description Guide
This document contains more detailed information about academic subjects and gives brief course descriptions of all course offerings.
