Who We Are

Who We Are

Dr. Howard Menand

Welcome to the Middle School

As the principal of QAD Middle School, I am very excited to welcome you to our school. We are passionate about the educational experiences and opportunities we provide our students. Our international staff is trained to support the academic and social-emotional needs unique to students at this age. Additionally, our students comprise a blend of Qatari and International individuals, which results in a harmonious and cultural environment.

With respect to curriculum, QAD Middle School integrates the IB Middle Years Program within the structure of a genuine middle school. We provide our middle school students with activities and experiences typical of middle schools around the world, such as recognition ceremonies, community time, and athletics. Yet, at the same time, our students participate in the Middle Years Program which is an IB curriculum that spans from 6th grade to 10th grade. So our focus emphasizes the combined goal of providing students with the social-emotional support needed at this age while also establishing the academic foundation for our students so that they can seamlessly transition to high school. Through our endeavors, our students gain a sense of global and community awareness, establish a strong MYP background, and develop the skills needed to succeed in high school. Essentially, we fulfill the mandate of our vision: empowering students to achieve academic excellence and be responsible citizens.

Throughout our middle school website, you will become familiar with our staff and students, the events at our school, the level of community support and involvement our students engage in, and you will gain an appreciation of the overall quality of education our students receive. Of course, if you still have questions or need more information, you are more than welcome to contact the school.

Again, thank you for your time, and perhaps I will be able to welcome you in person.
